In a post-apocalyptic world, two colossal trenches carved into the earth split the land in two. To the east beneath an endless grey sky, the infected roam-a mindless, frenzied horde that kills all in its path. To the west, beyond the trenches' protection, nine kingdoms have risen from the ruins of civilization.  

In the realm of the Salazar bloodline, Prince Willow senses in dread of a new terror stirring within the infected lands-a new, dark force poised to purge the last remnants of humanity and plunge the world into eternal darkness. But after centuries of peace between east and west, few believe him.

The story begins in the cursed east, as an unknown man awakens. He does not know why he is there. He does not know what he is. But soon, he will become the fulcrum on which the fate of both worlds will be decided. 

The tale unfolds through Willow's eyes as he watches the infected rise begin to engulf the last strongholds of humanity.
