I can't remember the last time I saw a person that wasn't clad in a laboratory coat or a Soviet uniform.
I've heard them. Their screams. Their sobs. Their fruitless pleas for mercy.
I've felt them. The machines they use on people here tend to send erratic vibrations through the floor.
Sometimes, I can even smell them. People tend to piss themselves when they're terrified.
I've seen their blood, sometimes still wet and dripping down the walls or pooling at the drains.
But I've never seen them.
Not until now.

When new intel comes through about a Hydra weapon, the avengers split into two teams, one checking out a new base, while the other scours an old one. It's no coincidence that the intel comes through, and they find files about experiments done to one person. 'winter 2.0' the team calls her, but to Bucky, the fear sinks in as memories resurface about one soldier in particular, Ace. Stronger, deadlier and she made the winter soldier in him afraid. The work together to find out all they can, not realising that they are being watched by the very soldier herself. After an attack on the compound, which leaves quite a few of the team shaken, one avengr in particular is intrigued by the univited guest now residing in the holding cells. Who is the masked assailant, and why is it, she listened to him? **** The soldier begins to remember her past, fighting against all the Hydra conditioning, to remember who she was. Why does one of the men stand out? Who is he, and why does she have an overwhelming need to protect him? She knows Hydra will stop at nothing to get their soldiers back, but will she submit to Hydra or fight for right to live free? Eight years later, Jocelyn was captured by Hydra and turned into an experiment. For years, Jocelyn has been kept by Hydra, being a victim of abuse and frozen in a cryostasis chamber like the Winter Soldier.
