Story Overview: Cosmic Irony

Science can explain everything-except destiny.

Pyro, a brilliant but emotionally detached scientist, has always lived by one truth: the answer cannot be changed. He believes in logic, in facts, in knowledge above all else. But one fateful night, everything he knows is shattered.

Drawn to a mysterious asteroid, Pyro uncovers a relic of immense power-the Artifact of Judgment-an object never meant for him, never meant for this world. The moment he touches it, his fate is sealed.

Soon after, an Angel of Destiny appears before him. "You possess an Artifact that does not belong to you," it declares. "But I cannot take it back. The Artifact has bonded with you. You are now this world's Enforcer of Judgment."

Burdened with an unimaginable role, Pyro realizes the cruel irony of his fate. The cold, logical scientist-the man who never cared for the emotions of others-is now forced to feel them. The Artifact doesn't simply grant him power-it makes him experience the emotions of those he judges, forcing him to confront the very thing he once ignored.

Seeking a way to rid himself of this curse, Pyro turns to his academic rival, Ember, a brilliant nano-biologist and his only intellectual equal. She is his opposite in every way-fiery, extroverted, full of passion and pride. The two have clashed for years, yet now, out of necessity, they are forced to work together. As they repeatedly attempt to separate Pyro from the Artifact, their rivalry evolves into something neither of them expected.

As time passes, Pyro begins to see the world in a new light-not just as equations and logic, but as something more. Humanity is not just about knowledge. It is about hope, understanding, and connection.

And so, life moves forward. Pyro and Ember continue their research, the world turns, and for the first time in a long while... everything seems right.

And everybody is happy.

Viktor didn't expect to be abducted by aliens when he went to school one morning, and he certainly didn't expect to be thrown into the alien equivalent of a dog-fighting ring, either. But when fighting for his life quickly becomes his routine, will he be able to muster up the strength to break that mold? Especially when the fate of humanity rests on his shoulders? *** The Vokkrus, a warrior alien species, go to Earth with the intention to 'rescue' the human species from their dying planet. The catch is that they believe humans to be nonsentient and incapable of intelligent thought. They are treated as nothing more than the common animal. They are a commodity, something to fawn over and ogle at. Humanity's strength and stamina are nearly unrivaled on this new planet, and when Viktor is taken to an alien fighting ring, he quickly dominates the competition. Mercy has no place in the arena. When Viktor is adopted by the leader of the Vokkrus, an intimidating alien whose intentions are unclear, he is forced to shed his wariness and convince the alien king to save humanity from his accidental oppression. *** Please don't advertise other stories in the comments! It is a magical world where the strong rules. But rampant corruption and chaos exist, where slavery, rape, murder, and discrimination against the weak were all but common. The magically superior people trample over the lesser unfortunate folks, using them as stepping stones and disposable assets. All hope for these downtrodden souls seems lost, but the wheels of fate have other plans for them. In a faraway ocean, one that is filled with demons and sea monsters, a great technological civilization suddenly appeared, one that came from a world that is only filled with chaos and destruction. This civilization became the heaven for people seeking a stable and peaceful life. The Earth rose and seas parted ways, and the environment had totally changed for its adaptability. Unfortunately, the inhabitants of this great technological civilization are all but manaless, arriving in a world where they are seen as inferior and as slaves. How will they react of finding themselves in a world where people can split mountains or bend the fabric of space, and where beings exist that even conventional weapons cannot defeat? How will they survive against deadly monsters, magical beasts, and superhumans that could threaten entire nations? And how will the other powers that exist in this world react to a powerful, advanced nation filled with a race they deem inferior?
