Daydreaming. What if it's not just an escape from reality? In Hallucaville, daydreams are used for energy to power cars, electricity, etc. You'd think the name of the town gives it away, but the citizens have no clue where their energy comes from. Every time a teen daydreams, the brainwaves are converted into energy. But the teen forgets the daydream even just happened. This form of energy makes this town wealthy and urban because teens daydream A LOT. But, a girl named Chanelle, or Nelly, has somehow tricked the system. When Nelly dreams, it doesn't go to the government. She remembers it and somehow, some way, it comes true causing her to get a sense of déjà vu. She gets that feeling a lot and it is slowly destroying the system. A letter from her mother when she turns seventeen explains everything to her. Apparently, her mother didn't die from a car accident. She was killed by the government for having déjà vu. A new boy from the next town over has been training all his life for one mission: to save Nelly. And not to mention that he may have fallen in love with her along the way by watching her on a screen.
