The Stone Kingdom - Book One of the Prehistory Trilogy.
Thousands of years after the Scorching Division, when the Fire Clan betrayed the Stone Kingdom by weaponizing fire and breaking away to form their own empire, the Neanderthal people of the Stone Kingdom continue to thrive in their rocky valley, coexisting with massive herbivorous dinosaurs and upholding the traditions of their ancestors.
King Tharok leads his people with strength and wisdom, and as he returns from a successful hunt, he receives joyous news --his second son, Ka'Ruk, has been born. But far beyond the Stone Kingdom, the Fire Kingdom grows ever more powerful under the rule of a ruthless overlord Volgar and his warrior queen, Arva. Fueled by the dark power of the Tyrant Heart, an ancient artifact discovered by his ancestors, Volgar commands monstrous carnivorous dinosaurs and bends the minds of those he enslaves, including warriors stolen from other kingdoms.
As the years pass, Ka'Ruk grows into a fierce warrior alongside his older brother Gorvak, both destined to protect their homeland. But when Gorvak is kidnapped and slowly corrupted by the Tyrant Heart's influence, Ka'Ruk is faced with an impossible mission: saving his brother before he is lost forever. With the Fire Kingdom preparing for war, Ka'Ruk must unite the other kingdoms before Volgar's flames consume them all.
But the only way to break the Tyrant Heart's curse is to cast it into the heart of an erupting volcano -- before it's too late.
