Because of this, Elysia was raised in an environment of high expectations and strict protection, always being taught that she must be careful about whom she trusts. Her family, especially her father, ensured that she had connections and safety, though this often meant others feared getting too close to her.

Despite being a Slytherin, Elysia quickly gained a reputation for being different from the usual crowd-her humor and independence set her apart. She had no interest in blood purity debates and was known for outwitting her classmates, even the likes of Severus Snape and Lucius Malfoy.
