The introduction of a four-part series. Shauntelle "Shaun" Jenkins is a nineteen year old college sophomore. She feels secure with where her life is going, until it gets turned upside down when she finds out her best friend is not even human; he is a mythological creature called a Gryphon. As any other person in this situation, Shaun is not sure how to respond until she finds herself in the past, where Gryphons once lived, and feeling conflicted with the task she is given. Destroying a great evil may sound good to some people, but to a woman just coming out of adolescence, she may not seem ready for it at all.
