The girl really didn't know she was a witch until Mcgonagall arrived on her doorstep to hand deliver her letter. There was many things people didn't know about Jaycee, and there was many things Jaycee barely knew about herself. She barely knew who her parents were, since she lived in an orphanage, but she knew she missed them. She could remember the love they showed her, even if it was a conventional way of showing love. She wanted to find them as soon as she was given the chance, but now the slim chances she had were getting taken from her. She hoped to find them eventually, or hoped they'd find her. The professors and headmaster know who her parents are supposed to be, but they're unsure if it's true.
