Prologue: The Prophecy In ancient times, it was said that a great power would arise, a power that would bring magic back to the forefront of the worlds. It was said that this power would be born of lightning and fire and that it would be wielded by a mage of great strength and courage. The world would face great upheaval and danger, but magic would be the key to survival. There will come those who will unite the kingdoms and empires, and they will bring an end to the darkness that has long shadowed the land. It was said that these mages would be the saviour of the worlds and that they would bring hope and light to all. But for many years, the prophecy remained unfulfilled. Magic seemed to be ending, few remained that could wield it. The darkness seemed to grow. The people slowly forgot and those that remembered lost hope, the kingdoms and empires fell and changed and with it brought chaos. But then, one day, a young girl was born in a small village far from the capital. She was born under the sign of lightning, and she had the power of magic within her. And so, the prophecy began. The first of them had arisen, and the journey to bring magic back had begun.
Frost and Snow
Ever since their childhood two friends had trained in the art of the sword, to become Knights and to be able to protect their small village from those that would mean it harm. And that is what they did, until one day when riding out to lend assistance to a neighboring village and they were stopped by a mysterious woman. She called herself the Snow Witch and with a spell she bound the two young Knights to herself. The Snow Witch then ordered them to do her evil work, to spread death and chaos where ever they went, to kill without mercy or remorse. But her grasp was not strong enough. While visiting the village she vowed to protect all those years ago, Astre is confronted with her mother and breaks the icy chains of the Snow Witch. Now broken free from her command, she needs to find her childhood friend and set her free as well. But they are no longer trusted by the people and they need to redeem themselves in the eyes of the country and set out to free the land from the cold grasp of the witch. Regina Mills had spent her whole life fighting Love, or Evil. When she was younger she fought for the love she had for Daniel, and tried her hardest to fight her mother's evil, ultimately ending in losing Daniel. For a while, she tried to fight the evil that began festering inside after the loss, and she lost that battle too. Then, for years she fought the love that Snow White and Prince Charming had for eachother, doing everything in her incredibly vast power to try and ruin it for them. Everything she did fought off love, deep down she felt unworthy of it, even from her own son who she truly loved but still kept at arm's length. When she met Emma Swan, it was different. Emma didn't even try to suck up to the mayor, she didn't care about Henry's stories of her evil-doing, though she did believe him. She wasn't scared of Regina, so she had no love to fight. It felt wrong, but for that very reason, Regina found herself with fondness for Emma. How odd, that the younger woman's lack of love caused the older woman to become fascinated.
