This journal is from the perspective of a person living in George Orwell's book, 1984. The character itself is one of my creation, however the world is the one of 1984. Edward Hale is the author of these journal entries, a Party member and father of two, who begins to question the world he's living in.

This story is for my little brother. He was the best man I ever knew, and he died too young. No, he didn't leave this life the way I tell it in this story (it is, after all, a work of fiction), but he might have had things played out a little differently than they did.
