Centuries forward, Centuries back

A dracarvi royal, Guinevere discovers she is betrothed to a prince who promised to be devoted and take ownership of the kingdom her father labored decades to earn. Except her husband-to-be isn't who he says he is, and in desperation, the princess flees all she's ever known to strangers from the human world. She disguises her true identity to a woman named Rylie, who starts to take a liking for her at the expense of her friendship which isn't so friendly. Guinevere has to choose between the toxicity of competing for the same woman or returning to her arranged marriage that isn't as far as it seems.
