The rain poured down, each drop a tiny sob mirroring the heavy weight of emotion between Elara and Liam. They sat at a small table in the corner of a cafe, the dim lighting casting a melancholic aura over the scene. Elara, her eyes red-rimmed and hands trembling, clutched her cup of iced coffee, the liquid unnoticed in her distress. Liam, his face blank, his hands resting on the table, fingers slightly curled, silently watched her.

Elara: (Her voice was soft, almost a whisper, laced with regret) Liam, we need to talk…

Liam: (He nodded slowly, his eyes fixed on her, yet devoid of emotion) I know…

Elara: (She took a deep breath before uttering the words she knew would inflict pain) I’m seeing someone else…

A long silence followed, broken only by the persistent drumming of rain outside and their shallow breaths. The blank expression on Liam’s face gradually shifted, pain slowly surfacing in his eyes.

Liam: (His voice was calm, yet tinged with sadness) I understand… These things happen… (A bitter smile touched his lips)

Elara: (Tears started to fall, her shoulders shaking) I’m sorry if I hurt you… I didn’t mean to…

She slowly reached out, her hand covering his. A light touch only, a silent apology. She held it for a moment, then gently withdrew. The brief contact spoke volumes.

Liam: (His eyes lingered on their clasped hands before he slowly released hers) It’s okay… (A faint smile, filled with pain and acceptance)

Elara stood, her eyes brimming with tears. One last look at Liam, a final farewell.

Elara: (Her voice barely above a whisper) Thank you…

Elara left, leaving Liam sitting alone at the table, the rain still falling, the cafe silent, his heart heavy with pain and regret. All that remained was the cold coffee and the memory of a love lost.

He said ,pacing the room . Oblivion to the tears ,she tried her best to hide. He didn't love her. He never did, she was a fool to even think that he for once did. -- PROLOGUE "Let me get this straight. We have nothing in between us, except for the deal we made that day" he spoke in a monotonous tone. "I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" He stayed still, not moving or saying anything at her statement. --

Book 1 ── .✦ Eshal stood up slowly, her fingers brushing the edge of the table, and Zavian's heart clenched as he watched her. Her eyes were glossy with unshed tears. She didn't look at him-couldn't look at him. "Mujhe chalna chahiye," she said quietly. Zavian shot up from his seat. He reached out, his hand trembling as he grabbed her wrist. "Nhi, Eshal. Yeh yun khatam nhi ho sakta. Aise nahi..." His voice cracked. Eshal stiffened as she stared at the place where his hand held her. She tried to pull away, but his grip tightened, and for a brief moment, their eyes locked. She wanted to stay so badly, to throw herself into his arms. But she couldn't. "Yeh khatam ho chuka hai, Zavian," she whispered, her voice breaking as she forced the words out. Zavian's chest tightened painfully at her words. His breath hitched, and before he could stop himself, he was sinking to his knees, still holding onto her wrist. "Nahi, Eshal. Aapke bina meri zindagi ka koi wajood nahi." Tears blurred his vision as he looked up at her. Eshal's own tears fell as she looked down at him-her hand trembling in his. She wanted to hold him, to tell him that she loved him, but the words wouldn't come. Her hand shook as she placed it over his, her fingers gently prying his grip away from her wrist. Zavian looked up at her, his face filled with agony, as if her touch had shattered something deep inside him. He didn't want to let go. "Eshal, aapko khuda ka waasta hai..." he whispered again, his voice desperate. Eshal closed her eyes, her heart breaking and in one gentle motion, she let go of his hand as she took a step back. Zavian's eyes widened, his breath came in ragged gasps as he watched her, his heart shattering into a million pieces. But Eshal didn't turn back. She walked away, leaving Zavian kneeling there, broken and crying, his tears falling like rain, soaking the last remnants of their love.

"Why can't you just go away, Ian!" I spat. "We don't need you!" "I think you do, Amber." Ian countered calmly, slowly circling the large table to get to me. "At least speak with your pack. I think some may welcome the change--" "We've done fine!" I moved to widen the distance between us. "It must pain you to know a female pack can thrive!" "I'm sure you've done fine on your own," Ian said softly. "but we are talking about growth, mates, expansion. I believe our packs uniting would be good for all." I gave a snort, looking away. "Good for you, you mean." "Good for you, too." His look held sensual promise as he began to move again. "I don't think so," I sneered as he came closer. His scent was beginning to affect me, so I began to back away. The sight of his large and muscular frame was frightening but held me in wonder, his dark eyes a little too discerning for my taste. But I wanted my freedom, and to unite with an alpha as good as took that away. "Go away, Ian. You're not wanted--" "Okay." "What?" "So, send me away." He said it simply. "I'm a male alpha, but you are female, so you can send me away." "I did!" "No, you didn't," he gave a small smile. "Every time you mention me leaving you look away." He began to move toward me. "I want you to stand still, look me in the eyes--" He pointed at his eyes for emphasis. "Right here, and tell me you want me to leave." I watched him slowly make small steps toward me. I brought my eyes to his and couldn't breathe. His scent permeated my senses, making me feel weak, but strengthening a bond that called for consummation. I didn't want this! Damn him! I shook my head, trying to get the words out, but instead felt tears come to my eyes. He cornered me, leaning down, and caressed my cheek. I bit back a sob, rooted to the spot. He rubbed my nose with his as his eyes glowed and his canines appeared. "Liar." he whispered.

Do you love the rain?" he asked after a pause. Luna hesitated, looking out at the falling droplets. "Not really. It makes me blue," she admitted, her tone a little lighter than her words might've suggested. Ashen blinked, surprised by the answer. "But... you seem like you're kind of enjoying it." Luna's lips curled into a tiny smile. "Yeah, I'm enjoying feeling blue." . . . Before Ashen could reply, Ethan's gaze drifted outside. Across the street, a young girl held her little brother's hand, a pair of bright balloons bobbing above their heads as they splashed through puddles. Ethan's smile faded, his eyes distant, clouded with something unspoken. Ashen noticed the shift-the way Ethan's hand froze mid-spin on his cup, the slight tension in his jaw. But instead of prying, he leaned back and said lightly, "You want one of those balloons too, huh?" Ethan blinked, then snorted softly. "Yeah. The red one." . . . Three college students, each carrying their own burdens of loss and unspoken grief. They don't know it yet, but their lives are about to collide. As they struggle to fight their demons, they'll find comfort in each other's pain. But will they find healing-or will the shadows of their pasts pull them apart? This is a story about finding strength in brokenness, healing through connection, and the journey of learning how to live again.
