After the events of Sonic Prime, the blue hedgehog and his friends could finally live in peace, keep battling Eggman and his robots, enjoy chilli dogs and so on.

But what if, somehow, the chaos council found a way in Greenhill and teamed up with Dr. Eggman, due to having the same motives-to destroy Sonic, get the paradox prism and rule over all of the shatter worlds? Well, that latter was something Eggman heard from the chaos council, but he wasn't against the idea. If he did his own plan correctly, he would rule not one, but five whole worlds!

Obviously, neither Sonic or Shadow, both of whom saw first hand what would happen in the case of the prism being mishandled, would allow the evil geniuses to succeed their plans.
