I'm writing this story for the Open Novella Contest. I'll update a blurb soon.

For this story, I'm using prompt #55: "What if the person you see in the mirror isn't really you, but something that's been watching you this whole time?"

This is not a horror story. It's a paranormal, dystopian story. 

I hope you like my interpretation of the prompt.

Although I'm tired, I have to keep moving. Keep scrounging for food. Keep dodging bullets. Keep ahead of him. It should be an easy decision, if not for the part of me that wants him as badly as he wants me.

The Touch of Infection di Ramileds

Carisa's been running for her life the past two years. Loosing her loved ones and anyone she grows close to. The apocalypse was caused by an alien raise coming to earth and proclaiming they'll fix the planet. Their way to 'fix' it being destroying humanity with a plague. However they didn't expect the human body to be as persistent as it is, the infection they spread mutating and making humans reanimate with a hunger for flesh. They thought they could contain it, control it even, but it's spreading faster than they thought. The world is dying faster than ever before. And Carisa only want to survive, to make it to the next day, bumping into an Alien she thought she'd be petrified. But upon further inspection... their not that much different that humans. Curiosity at its peek with both of them and so she gains a tail always creeping behind her. The aliens just won't let her go. Story is written on my free time so it has a lot of typos, sorry. It's been marked #1 in "alien race" wow It's been marked #1 in "infection" I did not expect taht considering it's been finished a while now but hey interesting to have for however long it lasts. Nothing could compare to the way her gaze made me feel. The flames licking my skin and the raging fire in my veins was way more bearable. The moment our eyes connected, it was like my body found a new kind of flame. The kind that only she was able to draw from me. I've never felt my body being set ablaze like this before. One day here in this new town and I was already losing my mind over my new neighbour. A really pretty, hot neighbour. Her long, wavy platinum blonde hair, pale skin and icy blue eyes that seemed to stare depths into my soul and keep me frozen in place. I couldn't seem to leave. Her pink lips were parted slightly as she tried to catch her breath. I swallowed. One step forward and I could hold her. One tilt of my head and I could kiss her lips. If only I could have a taste of those lips- I have to get out of here. I turned and left, my heart nearly overpowering my brain to stop and go back to her. Only one thought kept me going. I'm back with a new story and I've had this idea in my head for quite some time and I'm glad to finally be posting it! Firstly, I got inspiration for this book from a Korean drama called "Goblin" and it's one of the best dramas I've come across after so long. Things that couldnt possibly be true but have the possibility to be somewhat believable. Ive written some stories in different styles as this is the first time ive ever done this. So bere with me. Finding my voice. The first story is about a boy who follows his dog into the underworld. A parrelel universe where everything is upside down. Where the evil him ecisys. What could go wrong. My second story. its about a elena radcliff who died in her living room. becoming a ghost. who thought she was in love but comes to believe maybe she was blinded by loves emotions. See what happens to her and her ex husband. The third story is about a boy who hits puberty but what happens when your family might be from another place of existence an underworld unseen. What does it mean for him. The fourth story is about a woman. Who spent her life taking care of people in her hospital but when she dies. She's still there to watch over them as its being taking over by evil. The fifth is about a sick boy who heals people. When he himself is being tooken care of by a nurse of his own. He meets a special girl who changes his world. As maybe his life isnt as perfect as it seems. The sixth is about a man who is addicted to alcohol but when a mysterious stranger offers him a new drug. Loosely based on the folklore of seductive water sprites, particularly the Vila (a Central European version of Rusalka). Written for @AfterDark's "Mirror, Mirror" contest (Mar 2020) -'Mysterious Ways'. A young woman wakes in the wrong version of her bedroom. Or is it so wrong after all? ('You wake in a strange place, possibly as someone else.') -'The Listeners'. Morial and her fellow Spirit Listeners work hard to maintain the balance between nature and mortals; until, one Summer, Morial is accused of upsetting that balance herself. ("I know what you did last summer". The prompt features as paragraph nine in my story.) -'Between the (Spread)Sheets'. An accountant and a trader play cat-and-mouse in a City firm. (@Crime's 'Deceptive Detective' Aug 2020: one criminal goes undercover to expose or be exposed by another.) -'The Unexpected Message'. A missed phone call proves momentous for a young art historian. (@AmbassadorsUK/@Fanatsy/@WattpadFairytales's 'Underground Tales' contest Nov 2020: pick a Tube station - King's Cross/Angel/Seven Sisters/Knightsbridge - and imagine what lies below which is connected with the name. I chose Angel.) The only real thing in this story is the Museum of London (which has an excellent Roman gallery, btw); any coincidence with real heritage experts - or indeed the unrealistic probability of such a find - is my fault. -'Cyclopean Arches'. In the year 3542, an advance exploration party finds some interesting ruins. (Nov 2020. 'Underground Tales' (again): King's Cross.)
