The Gears of War.

Two years after the defeat of the evil witch Zahn Tiri, Varian and the rest of his friends are living in peace, and Varian is overwhelmed with is suffocating duties as Corona's Royal Engineer. Varian decides to take a much needed break to the Dark Kingdom with his father, Quirin. On the return trip however, disaster strikes. When the worst possible outcome happens, Varian isn't strong enough face the consequences, and the pressure slowly breaks him.
Cassandra was on her journey to find her destiny, when she gets a hurried and vague letter from the queen, Rapunzel. When she rushes back, she finds the outcome worse than she had dared to imagine.
Far to the west, a small, shady kingdom with a grudge against a certain Coronan, threatens war, and Corona is caught in a corner between a full scale invasion and the workings of a friend turned dark.
