Hybrids are real but very rare.
Hybrids tend to pick their human and stick with them.
Usually, their human immediately give them all their attention because, well, all humans do.

So when Win finally funds and picks a human up to his standard and he doesn't get his human's attention immediately, he gets sad, but apparently, there's a very good and a bit confusing explanation for that.
