Hey, folks, first time poster. Below is a short story of mine. It's a little bit of a love letter to the slasher genre and video game I play. It's been a very long time since I've written a single word (25) years and it took an old friend to re-spark the dream. Anyway, this was practice for me to.....I guess find a voice, get some words down, see where it went. I mean, it's garbage, but that's okay. I think it went well for what it is. IDK, you tell me. Maeve is still adjusting to her new life with Will and Ander, steeped in monsters and violence. Her own powers are still a mystery to her. Fear holds her back from exploring what they are or what creature that might make her. Unable to resist Will's lust but still drawn to Ander, she tries to balance her relationships with them. Fear for his cousin eats at him daily. Paranoia, for his betrayal, only adds to his own deteriorating mental health. Despite being an abomination, Ander gained Maeve's favor. It has changed everything and yet nothing. He seeks a deeper connection with her, but understands it will never be more because of who and what he is. Finding solace in his magic, he walks the razor sharp line between power and losing himself forever.Complete
