She never believed in love at first sight. She believed in logic, in well-thought-out plans, in step-by-step processes. Love, in her opinion, was something that grew steadily, like a well-managed investment-low risk, high return. But all of that went flying out the window when she met Shubii.

It wasn't a grand, dramatic moment straight out of a movie. No violins played in the background, no slow-motion stares. Instead, it was a completely unexpected twist of fate. Esha had applied for a role in a sports management company, completely unaware that this decision would lead to a fateful encounter. They bumped into each other-quite literally.

Their first interaction? A full-fledged argument. One misunderstanding led to another, and before they knew it, they were bickering over something utterly ridiculous. In the chaos, their phones got exchanged-the only thread connecting them for the next two years. Strangers, yet unknowingly tied to each other.

For those two years, neither of them made an effort to reconnect, each lost in their own worlds. Until one day, during an interview, Shubii was asked: "Who's the weirdest person you've ever met?"

And just like that, he remembered her.

Curiosity turned into obsession-he dug through old call logs, trying to track down the girl who once fought him over a misplaced phone. But there was no name, no clear lead. Frustrated but determined, he took a wild shot-Instagram. A wrong message, a mistaken DM, and suddenly-boom. The talks began.

He was her stalker. But not the kind that lurked in the shadows with sinister intent. No, he was simply a man in love-too afraid to step forward, too hesitant to risk rejection. A silent observer, hopelessly drawn to the woman who had unknowingly become his entire world. To everyone else, he was intimidating. A towering figure wrapped in ink and muscle, exuding an unapproachable presence that made people steer clear. They never looked deeper. Never saw the quiet soul beneath the hardened exterior. Judgments were made the moment he entered a room, long before he even had the chance to speak. But she was different. She saw him. And more importantly-she liked being seen by him. If he thought he was going unnoticed, he was sorely mistaken. He wasn't a very good stalker-not by a long shot. She recognised his face, the way he lingered just far enough away to watch but never close enough to act. His clumsy attempts at remaining unseen were anything but stealthy, and truth be told, she found them utterly endearing. He wasn't frightening. He wasn't menacing. He was just a man, staring at her from the edges of his own fear, caught between longing and hesitation. But she wasn't going to make it easy for him. She wanted him to make the first move. She wanted him to prove to himself that he was brave enough to stand before her, to reach for what he so clearly desired. So, with a knowing glint in her eyes, she played along-her actions deliberate, her teasing methodical. She became a puzzle for him to solve, a challenge he couldn't ignore. And with each passing day, she felt the tension coil tighter between them, the invisible string drawing them closer. And really, if he ever wanted to harm her-which was laughable-he wouldn't stand a chance. The only thing he was a danger to was his own fear of losing her before he ever had the chance to claim her.

-- PROLOGUE "Let me get this straight. We have nothing in between us, except for the deal we made that day" he spoke in a monotonous tone. "I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" He stayed still, not moving or saying anything at her statement. --
