Steves recently discovered son Connor is now 21.
As he arrives to live at the flat above the shop he'll be living on his own for the first time.
He has a girlfriend, but is he with her for the right reasons?, he knows he isn't, he's with her because it's what's expected.
When she meets Steve and Nick, his dad and his step dad the homophobic woman is not impressed.
As expected a nasty break up ensues.
Head barman of their local pub, Blake Windsor sees things and hears things when he's behind the bar, privy to all manner of angst and family drama he usually ignores it, it's not his business.
When Connors homophobic girlfriend turns against him, he can't help but take the time to console the younger man who sits at his bar with a bruised face.
Only really knowing the man through his friendship with his dads, Connor finally "looks" at Blake for the very first time, there's definitely something about him that lights a spark.
Blake is not only older though, he has baggage, LOTS of it.
Beaten and forced to leave home at 17, homelessness, abuse, a failed Vegas marriage and failed relationships, all lead to deep seated self hatred, hidden beneath his wonky smile and his brilliant blue eyes.
