The Serpent Trio

It was after the war. Hermione, Ron and Harry-known as the Golden Trio-returned to Hogwarts for their 'eighth year', redo year for every seventh-year student.

When they stood in the hall, they were confused when McGonagall stood up before the sorting. But when she spoke, their blood ran cold.

All eighth years were to be re-sorted. The trio knew damned well the sorting hat wouldn't leave them this time. It sensed the change in them. A change leading them away from the lion's den and into the snake pit. So when Slytherin rang out three times in the hall, they're shock was only brief.
