"I should've known when we both agreed to this arrangement, I'm such an idiot." Sofie says, cursing herself as she stands from the table. Charles blocks her path, taking her hand in his.
"Just give me some time, I'll fix this." He says, his eyes practically pleading with the girl. Sofie gently pulls her hand out of his, taking a step back to put some space between them.
"You can't fix this, Charlie, the damage is done." She says, a sad smile pulling at the corners of her lips. Sofie turns away from the man, trying her best to hide the tears that threaten to fall as she leaves him behind.
