The Hippocratic Corpus is the collection of Hippocrates' essays on ancient medicine dating from the last decades of the 5th century BCE, to the first half of the 4th century BCE. The essays birthed western society's development of modern medicine, shifting popular focus from magic and religion in treating patients, to medicine and biology of the human body. A large portion of the essays also studied ethical means of medical practice.
