Of course, keeping his head down and hiding in the infirmary with his newfound abilities only works for so long, after all the Fates have other plans for him.

Nico has been in the maze since it began-the hideous '1' burned into his arm announces it so-he knows how to survive its dangers alone. And he knows how to avoid Percy Jackson. Except the Labyrinth's latest newcomer has no intentions of letting him disappear so easily after their chance meeting, despite how adamantly Nico tries to push him away.

Percy remembers the name of every camper they've lost to the Labyrinth. The weight of such knowledge has him slowly drowning in grief and loss and guilt as the years inside the clearing pass. Annabeth, despite their complicated relationship, keeps him afloat as they navigate holding the lives of many in their hands. But the past is catching up to Percy and the future is looking just as bleak.
