The only remaining winner, Aemond Targaryen had forged himself from the flame did the war. He walked away with scars and stepped into the role of King. 

In his journey home he lost everything and gained his name.

Laenys lost her family to the war. Her sisters were split apart and she only wished to make her loyalty known before she too vanished into the shadows. She wished for nothing but peace and happiness. A safe place for her children to grow up.
