Hermione is a mind healer for the Ministry and treats many war survivors, including Azkaban prisoners. Tired of her tedious relationship with Auror Ron Weasley, she pours herself into work. She has a very challenging case at hand-Draco Malfoy. He spent the first two years of his sentence in isolation and hasn't spoken a word since. Close to his release, Kinglsey, the Ministry, has always believed that Draco was only a child on the wrong side of the war, and has specifically sent her to achieve his rehabilitation into society, despite their historic animosity.

Struggling with the consequences of the war, Hermione distances herself from the rest of the Golden Trio and returns to Hogwarts as Head Girl. Surrounded by constant noise, she finds her quiet in the company of the annoying blonde-haired Head Boy. Draco Malfoy is trapped behind his occlumency walls. Having kept them up for so long during the war, he can't bring himself to take them down. The only person who manages to get behind his walls just so happens to be the bushy-haired Head Girl. As each-other's only hope, can the two get along long enough to fix their problems?
