Deep in the magical Wild West, three transgender outlaws find themselves caught up with the Deadnames, a group working for a ruthless criminal syndicate that trades gender-affirming healthcare for dangerous, dirty work. Cole, a horse handler haunted by his lover's death, has been doing the syndicate's bidding for years to pay off his debt and escape his grief. His closest friend is Magda, a former preacher's "son" cast out as a teen, who found her new home with the Deadnames as their sharpshooter. The newest recruit, Beau, is a charming, genderfluid thief seeking refuge-and romance-within the gang as he attempts to outrun his past crimes.
The three quickly bond over their shared struggle against the ghosts of their pasts and the violent reality of their present. However, as the Deadnames' crimes become increasingly heinous and the law closes in, will the trio continue to stomach the brutal demands of their work, or risk everything for a chance at a different life?
