Fifteen year old Ziggy Versillo has always struggled with what's real and what isn't. Schizophrenia and psychosis twist his world into something unrecognizable-shadows whisper, memories warp, and faces blur between the living and the dead. With only his eight year old sister, Theo, to anchor him to reality, Ziggy fights to keep them both alive in a world overrun by the dead. When they're taken in by Rick Grimes' group, survival becomes even more complicated. The walkers are terrifying, but so is the voice of his old best friend-who died months ago.

As the days grow colder and the lines between real and unreal blur, Ziggy finds solace in Beth Greene's warmth. She makes him feel something he thought he'd lost a long time ago-hope.
