The night hung heavy, the moon half-hidden behind thick storm clouds, cast eerie shadows on the crumbling stone walls. He lay sprawled on the damp, uneven ground, his body broken, his spirit teetering on the edge of despair. His wounds burned where the villain's cruel hands had worked their torment, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Blood trickled from a deep gash on his forehead, blurring his vision as he struggled to lift his head. And then he saw her. She was trembling, her delicate form illuminated by the dim torchlight, her tear-streaked face frozen in terror. The villain stood behind her, his grip like iron around her wrist. A sharp, gleaming knife pressed against the soft skin of her throat, its cold kiss promising death. The villain chuckled his voice smooth yet dripping with malice. : assalu neeku sambandham leni katha idhantha, anavasaram ga vacchi irrukunnav madhyalo. He mused, tilting the blade slightly, enough for a thin line of red to appear on her neck. With a cracked voice Surya : Na... He sneered. : ayina champalsindhi dheeni. Madhyalo anavasaram ga nuvvu chasthunnaav, dheeni preminchi. The killer leaned into her ear, his breath sending a shudder down her spine. Lightning cracked across the sky, illuminating the haunted ruins for a fleeting second. The air smelled of rain, blood and something far darker, the impending death. Surya : NAZERAAAAA

His fingers trailed along her cheek. "Say it," Dhruvay murmured, voice raw with longing. "Say you missed me, wife." Roopa's eyes dropped to his wrapped hand again, the way it trembled slightly, the way he'd covered it with something that belonged to her instead of getting treated properly. Her throat tightened. "You bled, fought, got yourself hurt," she whispered shakily, eyes glossing with something unspoken. "And came all this way... for this?" His lips curled, amused, but that glint in his eyes darkened. "Tch. That mouth... I missed that too." She placed her palm on his chest, trembling fingers pressing against the thudding heart beneath. Not to push him away. But to feel him. To ground herself. To steady her pulse that threatened to race away. "If I say I missed you," she whispered, her voice laced with fear and fury, "what would you do?" "I'd never let you leave again," he said without a blink. "Not even to breathe." Tears burned her eyes, but she swallowed them. "And if I don't?" His gaze darkened. The smile faded like smoke vanishing in wind. "Then I'll still keep you," he said coldly. "But you'll bleed with me, wife... until you understand you were never meant to run." A gasp caught in her throat. He meant every word. Every scar on him was a sentence for her. "You're reckless," she whispered, "you terrify me." His expression flickered into something possessive, before he smiled again. A wicked, burning smile. "Good. Then maybe you'll stop running." His other hand slided beneath the hem of her top, resting possessively on her waist. "Now be a good girl, Roopa," he whispered, "and say you missed me." ~~❉~~ A forced marriage. A stolen past.
