The cold stone pressed against his back as she pinned him there, her wand digging into his throat. Edmund barely flinched. He only smirked, dark eyes flickering with something unreadable.
"Is she sweet enough to betray your whole family?"
The thought crept in like poison, winding around his ribs, squeezing. He should push her away. He should remember who she was-what she was. A name tied to bloodlines, to alliances he had no place in.
But she was fire and fury, standing before him with eyes that burned, with lips he had no right to want.
"You're reckless," she hissed. "You don't belong here."
He exhaled slowly. And yet... you can't seem to stay away.
Her wand pressed harder, but her hands trembled. He caught it, the hesitation. The war inside her that mirrored his own.
"Tell me," he murmured, voice quiet, taunting, pleading. "Is this hatred, or are you just looking for an excuse to touch me?"
The air between them crackled.
He should walk away.
But the heart was reckless. And maybe-just maybe-he was already lost.

Peter and I matched perfectly with each other. Lucy and Susan hurried to put on their flats and Edmund was messing with his hair in the mirror. I sighed, helping my younger brother with his dark hair. He smiled thankfully at me. Peter gave me a worried glance when he began getting confused with the emblem holding his cloak on his shoulders.
