The Balcony Across From Mine

"I wonder if you've ever noticed how often I step onto my balcony just to catch a glimpse of you. The city hums below us, but my world exists only in the space between your balcony and mine. You lean against your railing, lost in thought, and I wonder if you ever think of me the way I think of you.

Some nights, I catch your silhouette against the window, and I imagine a thousand stories where you turn, see me, and smile. Somewhere between the first glance and the thousandth, I forgot how to breathe when I see you.

I didn't mean to fall in love, but every time I see you under the streetlight's glow, I lose another piece of my heart. You don't know it, but I have written poetry in the spaces between our balconies. It started as a fleeting curiosity, then a habit, and now, you are my favorite part of the evening."
