The story of royal Volkov bloodline was ancient, but very old. Nastasya Volkova, youngest of three siblings, Sergei and Dimitri Volkov were Grisha and orphans, and they paid a horrible price to cross over the Flod from Kotterdam to get to the Little Palace. She is 17 when they arive with her traumatized big, blue eyes and long blonde hair. Nastasya, due to being hunted for decades and her own traumas is often seen as very cold, ruthless and dissmisive. But, what happenes when Nastasya meets General Kirigan, the Dark Heretic himself and she sees a way to reclaim crown? Or does he have other agenda in mind?

Admired by the Corporalki, hated by the Summoners, unknown to the Fabrikators she tries to find a place in the Second Army, while a certain blonde-haired King seems to throw more and more admiring glances at her... A few days after Alina and I escaped the clutches of my brother, the former Ravkan general of the Second Army, Aleksander Kirigan, we parted ways. I went with Kaz Brekker and his gang of thieves, affectionately nicknamed the Crows, back to Ketterdam, while Alina Starkov and her friend, Mal Oretsev, left for other lands beyond the walls of Os Alta.
