His fingers came to my chin, forcing me to look at him.
"Queen," he murmured, his voice dark, "you wanted to die?"

I didn't answer.
I just stared at him.
He smiled-cold, cruel.

My jaw tightened painfully.
Then he leaned closer, his grip firm, his voice dropping to a whisper-

For a second, my mind went blank.
I just looked at him.

His hold loosened just enough for me to breathe.

My eyes drifted to the edge of the cliff.

"And if I decide," I said quietly, "that I don't care what you allow?"

I pulled away from him.

Without another word, I walked back to the car and got inside.
