This is the life story of an african american family struggling to survive against hardship. Zamier remains trapped in the streets still living a crazy thug lifestyle he can't seem to escape no matter how hard he tries , London is hardly determined to break the cycle, fighting for a better future as she pursues her dream of being a nurse. Meanwhile, their baby boy Mari, begins to mirror his father in troubling ways-throwing chairs at teachers, fighting other kids, stealing, and showing little respect. London tries with everything in her but no matter how hard she pushes, she finds herself realizing it might not work.
