Jack Skellington and Y/N Skellington, Halloweentown's beloved and self-proclaimed Pumpkin King and Pumpkin Princess of Halloween-Town, have become bored with the same annual routine of frightening people. They find themselves tired of the town's namesake holiday.

The two soon stumbles across a new and unfamiliar holiday door. When they accidentally fall into Christmas-Town, and they sees all the bright colors and warm spirits, Jack gets a new lease on life. 

The two are fascinated by how different and joyous the holiday is compared to the monotony they found in Halloween.

Jack plots to bring Christmas under his control by kidnapping Santa Claus and taking over the role. 

Sal, the creation of local mad scientist Doctor Finkelstein, experiences a vision predicting that their efforts will end disastrously. 

Y/N, whom Sal secretly loves deeply and adores from afar, tries to help him warn her father, but Jack dismisses them.

Jack soon discovers even the best-laid plans of mice and skeletons can go seriously awry.
