Keith Halloway never wanted to be a hero. He's spent his life avoiding the expectations tied to his bloodline, but when he's thrown into an academy where the descendants of myths and legends are trained to embrace their fates, he quickly realizes that destiny is nothing more than a cage wrapped in a pretty story.
There, he meets others bound to their own twisted fairy tales. Dorian, the charming prince burdened by the weight of his perfect legacy; Selene, the pale queen with a beauty as cold as the moon itself; Caius, a tortured beast, wrestling with the monster beneath his skin; Lyric, whose voice can reshape reality, but at a dark cost; Ivy, connected to ancient magic and nature's endless cycles; Marlowe, a pirate with a cursed bloodline that could doom them all; and Elias, the sharp-witted outcast whose secrets may be darker than his smile.
But beneath the academy's pristine halls, something older, darker, is waking-something that could unravel the very fabric of their fates. The stories they've inherited were never meant to be followed blindly, and as they uncover hidden truths, they begin to realize:

With rebellion brewing in the shadows and destiny closing in, Keith must decide whether to play the part he was given or break the story entirely. Because in a world where fairy tales are law, breaking the narrative might be the only way to survive.

Teagan Monicroff comes from a long line of Monicroff Mages, hero's, and special beings. The Monicroff blood basically entitles her to being perfect and practically famous. Finally, it's time for her to attend Ridgemoor Academy, just like her father and his father and his fathers', fathers', father before her. Each generation of Monicroffs' bested every year they attended, from being top student to saving a magical realm back in the War of Magicals and Naturals some hundred years ago. Before long, Teagan must deal with the trials of being a fourteen year old first year Mage with a legacy for a name in the wrong house. This comes with bullying, insecurities, fears of rejection, failing classes, and basically doing everything wrong and butchering the Monicroff name. Just when she thinks it can't get worse. . . She's accused of stealing a magic amulet which could unleash a monster on the world and possible start another war between the Naturals and the Magicals. Also her Father isn't speaking to her. Trouble always follows her, and strangely enough-she's familiar with the feeling of blood on her hands, and the glimmer of naked secrets and truths that keep her enemies up until sunsets and dawns. Myths. Gods. Humans. These races are widely known for being the pieces that make up Mythology; however, one race has been lost to the recesses of time. Mythians. The forgotten race of peacemakers born to protect the world from war and chaos. Well that's what they told me in class anyway, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Life before Mr. Gale's Mythian Academy was simple: I only ever worried about what I was going to eat for dinner, what book I was going to read next, or whether my siblings would be able to make it through high school after me, but now life's gotten a lot more complicated because before hurling me down a hole, Alice would be jealous of, my headmaster gave me this letter explaining the unbelieveable truth. ⁓⁓⁓ To my dear First Years, The artifact stolen from the Academy is essential for the continuation of our existence. As you continue in your studies at the Academy, if you are successful, you will come to understand what all of this means, but for now, you three are our best chance to retrieve it. I plead with you: do not lose your sense of self and try hard to work together to achieve your final goal. I suggest working together no matter how different your personalities may be.
