Ilia Selene Rivera is an unremarkable half-blood. Or at least, she was. But when you're able to see people's souls (it's weird), and Chiron tells the new demigod at camp all about it when he's deciding on companions for a quest, then suddenly you're really interesting and useful and of course new guy wants you to come on the quest. So now you're going on a quest. At least Annabeth and Grover will be there, otherwise Ilia might be inclined to save everyone the trouble and go drown herself in the lake.
