"You know," he said, casting a sidelong glance at his sister, "Percy's been a bit quiet today. Haven't you noticed?"
''You're as subtle as ever brother.''
Vax huffed out a laugh. ''What? I can't help having such keen eyes,'' Uncomfortable he shifted his weight to his other foot. Taking his eyes off the traps they had set up for a moment. ''But seriously, he nearly choked on his waffle this morning when I talked to him. Dont you think that's, I don't know, weird for him?''
"Well, for Percy, that's practically jumping out of his skin. But yes," she agreed, adjusting one of the traps. "It is a bit odd. He's normally so composed."
Vax leaned back on his hunches shifting around the stones that littered the small bank. "Exactly. And did you see the color of his ears? I've never seen him blush like that. Not even when Scanlan was flirting with him the other day."
Vex chuckled again, shaking her head. "Well, maybe Scanlan should take notes," she teased.
Vax shot her a cold look." I'm serious Vex! And not only is he acting fucking weird but he's also fucking avoiding me!'' His voice got louder with every word. Making Vex flinch.

Zeus must've said something because Poseidon visibly sighed and looked away with a dangerous scowl. Perci's father collapsed into a puddle of sea water, disappearing to...wherever. Zeus coughed, clearing his throat and raised his glass once more. "Odin, the Allfather and I have declared an alliance between the Greeks and the Norse." It suddenly seemed like a moment to hold one's breath and the whole room did, "With the marriage of Thor Odinson and Persephone Jackson." Silence reigned over the room for a few moments before the quiet was broken with the shattering of glass hitting the marble floor. All eyes turned to the culprit, it being Perci herself. Annabeth was looking at her, shocked beyond comprehension and a hand covered her gaping mouth. Piper and Hazel's reaction were similar. The sea green eyed demigoddess took a shaky breath, a handful of her skirt and fled the room for the closest door. Zia Zircon. The final member of Vox Machina. Her skin was made of stone. Her amethyst eyes-quite literally crystallized- were more enchanting than any real gemstone one could dig out of a mine. Her hair of the same hue shimmered as if it was at war with the stars themselves. She was as beautiful as an ornate statue. There in lay the problem. Such an appearance, however beautiful; did not garner love, or warmth or anything of the kind. How could anyone want to be with a monster like her? Her skin was not soft or supple, her hands were not comfortable to hold. Zia was cursed, you could tell with just one look. Without even knowing the details of her tragic tale. When her friends get themselves kicked out of the last tavern in Tal'Dorei, Zia thinks that's it, the group would finally split and she would be alone, but when Scanlan finds an ad on a board they decide to give their partnership one last go.
