To be a doctor in the Foundation is a dangerous line of work. Especially when nearly everything that lives within its walls want to torture you or kill you without a second thought.
This however doesn't deter Dr Edgar Faust. Although a rather young and newly hired researcher, he has shown great potential to the Foundation and all who have met him. Working almost every day on every Scp in his sector to learn more about them. Almost to an obsessive degree. To the point that everyone joked that he would end up like Dr Gears.
For a while it seemed true. That was until he came upon chance with three Scp's. And Faust came to discover one question he needed to answer: Why was his heart beating so fast?

It's only getting worse for some, as their cities that are supposed to be providing for them are failing to do so. Survivors Wesly and Valentine aren't content with this, however, especially since Val's mother desperately needs life-saving medicine that the city just won't send. With no other options, the two journey outside the wall to study the monsters beyond, selling the information they find to the city in exchange for their support. While dangerous, they manage the task fine until one journey out they stumble across a disturbing, gruesome revelation that reveals not only more about the city, but the end of the world as a whole.
