'Blood runs thicker than water' they say. Those who you share the same blood as - you know your family - are meant to be more important than those who don't. But it's ironic really, the way the saying got messed up over time until it means the complete opposite. The full saying is 'The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb'. That the blood from the bonds you share with your chosen family are thicker than the water from the covalent womb you share with your blood relations.
