Are you sure this place has enough corners for us to find some peace?" Ellie chuckled, pulling Emily close.
"I think it does," Emily teased, resting her head against his chest. "We needed some time alone, didn't we?"
Ellie grinned, tilting his face toward hers. "I think I need it more than you know," he whispered before closing the distance between them and kissing her softly on the lips. The kiss deepened, tender yet full of passion-a quiet expression of everything they had been through, and the love that still burned bright between them.
Just as Ellie pulled away, he heard a soft clearing of the throat.
Olivia was standing in the doorway, looking slightly startled, but there was a genuine smile on her face. "I didn't mean to interrupt," she said lightly, her voice warm. "But I must say, it's good to see you both so happy."
Emily and Ellie jumped apart, a flush coloring their cheeks. "Mom!" Emily stammered, caught completely off guard. "I-We didn't expect you-".....

I pushed back my glasses and enquired, "Hi, did you call me?" I saw him smirk a little and then averted my gaze to anywhere but him. "Yes, Ms. Findlay. I did call you. I wanted to ask; are you the one who is making these new designs? Giving them finishing touches?", he asked pointing to the paperwork on his table. I didn't know why, but my throat had gone dry. So, I just nodded. He got closer to me and instinctively, I took steps away from him. Soon, he had closed the slightly ajar door and I was trapped between him and the door. We were so close that I could feel his breath near my neck. Slowly, he whispered into my ear, "What did you think, I would have forgotten you, Emerson? Do you think this is all a game?" I gulped. That was enough to confirm that he had definitely recognized me.
