The Tech Support Chronicles - The Printer Strikes Back is a lighthearted comic short story about Jason, an office worker locked in an ongoing battle with his mischievous printer. Despite his best efforts-pressing buttons, checking for jams, and even restarting it-the stubborn machine refuses to cooperate. His coworker, Sarah, jokingly suggests he try sweet-talking it, but even that doesn't work. Frustrated, Jason resorts to psychological warfare, showing the printer an online listing for a newer, better model. To his surprise, the printer immediately starts working, spitting out his documents in perfect order. Just as he thinks he's won, the printer leaves him with a cryptic final message: "I'll remember this, Jason." Packed with humour and office satire, this story turns a mundane tech issue into an entertaining battle of wits between man and machine. This is a collection of twelve short stories, each published previously in literary magazines or short story anthologies. The story Droning won the Bookshop Santa Cruz Short Story Contest in 2005. The story Brontosaurus was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2015. The story French Fries was rejected by more than thirty publications before it was selected for a print anthology. These are some of my favorite stories of all the stories I have written. My hope, dear reader, is that you will enjoy them also. She learns that if nobody's there to stick up for her, life is living hell. She stops bringing her comics to school, changes out her glasses for contacts, and does what she can to to fit in. Even worse than school is her stepfather, Steven, who has been abusing her for the past year. When she finally calls the police, Steven is put in jail and Cassie and her mom get as far away from him as possible, which means moving back home to the life she left behind. Cassie comes back in time for senior year and just wants things to go back to the way they were. Instead she discovers a new life better than anything she could have imagined.
