Shadow the Hedgehog is dead. That's what the world believes. That's what Sonic was forced to accept after watching him sacrifice himself to stop Solaris. The grief hit harder than any battle ever had, dragging Sonic into a place even he couldn't outrun. Life moved on, but he didn't-not really. Because how do you move on from losing the one person you secretly loved and didn't even have the chance to say "I love you" before they were gone.

Then, a year later, the messages began.

They were small at first-short, cryptic, unsigned. A single letter, a familiar phrase, an impossible clue. Then they became something more. Something only Shadow could know. Every text ended the same way:

At first, Sonic thought he was losing his mind. His friends told him it was a trick, a cruel joke by someone who knew how much he was suffering. But Sonic knows Shadow-knows the way he thinks, the way he speaks. And if there's even the slightest chance that these messages are real... he has to find out the truth.

Because someone is watching him. Someone who knows him better than anyone else.

Someone who never really left.

But if Shadow is alive, then where has he been all this time? And more importantly-why didn't he come back?
