Lee Bon-hwa had always spent her whole life drowning in debt, just barely scraping by to make a living for her and her son.
But one day, everything had changed for her when a salesman approached her, giving her the opportunity to earn some money by simply playing a few games.
However... It turned out these games were everything but simple.
Bon-hwa discovers that the players in this game are killed upon being eliminated, Bon-hwa deciding to tough it out due to her deep financial issues.
During these deadly games, Bon-hwa will face many horrors. From watching the many players around her die, to facing the trauma these games inflict upon her. Despite the constant death around her though... Bon-hwa isn't alone in this journey.
Inside of the games, Bon-hwa reunites with Gi-hun, an old childhood friend. The two quickly form a tight bond and love for one another, doing whatever it takes to keep each other alive. And somehow, despite the horrors of surviving the games the first time... The two end up in the games again, with one mission: To end these deadly games once and for all.
Will Bon-hwa and Gi-hun successfully end the games together?
...Or will they die trying to be the heroes?
