Briar Woods always prided herself on composure - sharp words with sharper smiles, and never letting anyone see her bleed. So when Draco Malfoy broke up with her, she was crushed, naturally. It felt like a cursed dagger slashed straight through her heart. She cried, she sighed, she moped around, she spent time ripping up his letters, throwing them into the Gryffindor common room fireplace, she even threw his dark green scarf off the very top of the astronomy tower (her friends didn't have to know that she regretted it the second she did it, rushing down the staircase, choking back sobs). It wasn't until she saw Draco with Daphne Greengrass that she had decided - She was gonna get him back.
