"You're the Alpha?" I gasped, the undeniable pull between us making my stomach twist.

He chuckled, the sound rich and full of amusement. "You don't even know who your own Alpha is?" His fingers brushed a stray strand of hair from my face, the touch sending a shiver down my spine.

His gaze locked onto mine, and for a moment, I swore the colors in his eyes shifted-blending, swirling, mesmerizing. "I've waited so long for you. What's your name?" His voice was a low growl, thick with possession.

"I'm Asta." The name left my lips like a confession, my body bracing for the sting of rejection. For him to sneer, to turn his back, to cast me aside like I was nothing.

But he stilled instead. His expression shifted, realization had hit. "The Unbound Wolf... the one who can't shift."

I expected disgust. Pity. A cruel dismissal.

Instead, he pulled me into a fierce embrace, his arms unyielding.
