The Summer In Between

Eighth-grader Kenny Marks doesn't belong. She has friends, a crush, and plays soccer. But she's not exactly... 'right'. She never felt like the suburban, preppy life came naturally to her, because she's more into music than family values. And she's good at it.
Going into freshman year, she's faced with a choice: Her hometown high school or a prestigious arts and music academy in Manhattan called Reynolds School of Arts and Design.
On top of that, there's a really cute guy who works in the diner named Bobby. Kenny had barely been able to talk to him before. She just kept stuttering and blushing. But as they get to know each other, she finds that she doesn't even have to try for it to work.
Can she follow her heart instead of her head? Only summertime will tell.
