Kotomine Kirei who died after making his last stand, protecting Angra Mainyu, were given a second chance in life.
He return to his past self ( or maybe it's another timeline) in 1991, 3 years before The Fourth Holy Grail War.

But right after his return.
A mysterious entity granted him an extraordinary power and fractured(limited) memories of his Other-Self in the other timeline..

This combination proof disastrous to the universe as Kirei realized his TRUE TWISTED nature earlier than the Original Timeline
