This story is about Gemma, a 15 year old girl. She writes letters to herself. She writes about everything that's going on in her life and about her memories and the usual girl talk. When she meets Liam, her world is turned upside down.

Today I went to Starbucks alone. It felt like I needed to escape from everything. When I had ordered an iced café Chocolate I searched for a place to sit. In the back of the shop I saw a place for two. I walked over to the table and sat down. I was drinking my coffee while I was thinking about the weirdest things. 'Hi love, can I take a seat please?' This strange boy asked. When I looked at him, I noticed his brown hair and his beautiful brown eyes. And I noticed his cute nose and his beautiful smile. 'Er.. Hi yeah sure you can have a seat please.' I said while I gave this boy my prettiest smile."

"Love isn't real" I mumbled looking down at me shaking hands. I felt his breath on my neck as he stood behind me. One of his hands was sliding up my hip to rest on my waist squeezing softy. "Is that what they told you?" He voice was close to my ear making me shiver. His other hand grabbed my chin making me look up and into the mirror we were standing in front of. "Yes" I answer meekly. Declan worked in a place his father owned not by choice but by force. His father ran a Secret restaurant worked by people who didn't have a job. They served in revealing outfits and the customers could treat them however they pleased. Declan was the most liked for his female features and body, he looked just like his mother which his father hated. He father made him feel useless, always saying rude and mean things and overall didn't care about what happened to him. He punished him when he did something wrong and never rewarded him when he was good and did his job well. 'No, he didn't'. I was so shocked by the turn of events. Everything was going fine and then suddenly boom, everything turned upside down. I just couldn't believe this. What did he think of himself? 'Leave me alone.' I said firmly but his hold on me was so strong. I was struggling to get out of his bear hold but to no avail. 'Oh!! So, the poor lady thinks that I will leave her alone and just let her go free?' He had that evil laugh and boy, his breath stank. 'Man, you just signed your death warrant and I will do one favour on you.' No one messes with me. 'Ooooh, I am so scared that I almost peed my pants.' Again that idiotic laugh. I counted till 5 and then kicked right in his balls. I turned around and grabbed his hair from roots, jerked them so badly and then gave my hard elbow shot on his chin. Everything happened so fast for one moment he was standing and the other lying on floor wiggling. I charged at him with my cheetah speed, picked up a wooden rod and started hitting him wildly, 'You idiotic stinky breath was trying to steal my backpack. You are so dead.' 'Favour, favour, favour.' He was screaming in pain just after few seconds and was panting hard. I picked my paste from my bag and threw at him, 'Brush your teeth.' I was fuming. I turned around and saw him standing wide-eyed, 'Hi, I am Scarlett.' I smiled showing my 32 teeth. 'I am scared.' His look puzzled me. Jack moves as the light turns green. "You know, if there's one book I haven't read, it's Emma by Jane." "No way." Jack nods. "I'm more on a Kafka vibe now." "Oh?" "I'm reading Letters to Milena." It's such a vague concept." Jack shrugs. "I don't think you can take his letters as a definition of love. Only you know what it means. Because everyone loves differently." Zach takes in his words. "I see." He hums. "So, to know what love is, one has to be loved." "Not necessarily. You can look at your parents and see that they love each other. Or a random old couple in the park. The love is there. But it's different from everyone else's." He nods slowly. "What's love to you?" "I'll let you figure that one out yourself." Jack smiles softly. "Maybe one day I'll tell you." He shrugs. Zach whines. "Ugh, don't be mysterious." They chuckle as Jack parks the car in front of the coffee shop. Jack turns it off. "I'm letting you explore the mystery because I don't know what love is, just yet." He moves to hold his hand. "Not that it means with you, at least." The brunet feels his lips contort into a smile.
