After her mother's death, Jesse Parker decided that she needed to be more independent, starting with moving out of her parents house.
She buys an excellent new home for an exceptional price. It's worth much more, but the low cost is probably due to the basement flooding or something.
While moving in, she meets Jamie Beckingham, the sweet seven year old who lives in the neighborhood.
Jesse spends much of her time with Jamie, because Jamie's mother works constantly.
Jesse notices something about Jamie. Something off.
Once she starts investigating, she realizes Jamie might not be as sweet as she thought.
Jesse doesn't believe in ghosts. Until Jamie.
