Your family was quite close to the Holt family, as the dads were friends. That's how you met Katie, a girl your age who shared interest in science.

You were devastated when you found out your parents died in a car accident when you were 13. You were taken in by the Holts. And despite the unfortunate circumstances that caused you to be in this situation, you did get to spend every day with your friend and the person you admire the most, Matt Holt.

2 years later, Matt and Sam would go with Shiro (another pilot) would go on a mission to Kerberos, one of Pluto's moons. Tragically, they were reported as dying, but Katie didn't believe it. Not long after, Katie snuck into the Garrison to try to get information, but was kicked out.

So, you enrolled with her at the Garrison. But Katie disguised herself as a boy named Pidge, what Matt used to call her.
